For the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute we have scanned the so-called “hunger stone” and the flood markings in Děčín. The purpose of the scanning was the documentation of the state and the later analysis of the labels placed on the Elbe stone, as in the future it is possible to build a weir on the Elbe, in which case the stone will be permanently under water. The second objective was also to analyze existing and search for any possible invisible marks.
The stone was scanned by a combination of photogrammetry and laser scanning using Faro Freestyle, flood markers with photogrammetry and the Faro Focus S150 laser scanner.
The models are freely available for download at the CHMI website.
